Dog days of summer

Mon Aug 17, 2009, 12:22 PM
  • Mood: Content
  • Listening to: PC fan noise
  • Reading: finished His Dark Matetials Trilogy
  • Drinking: Coke Zero
Starting two weeks of vacation (yay!), hoping to get some good warm SUNNY weather. Weekend started off great, almost too hot (though not so hot I was wishing for w*nter!).

After the weekend folk festival where four of us played at together, playing mainly original songs by three of us, I wrote a new song this morning. Very country/Nashville style, certainly not my normal type. Kind of a Shania/Faith Underhill kind of piece. Wonder how I send superstars songs for consideration? :)

Just finished Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. The first book was Northern Lights/The Golden Compass, made into a movie in 2007. After finishing the trilogy, I can see why some people would not like its portrayal of organized religion, and especially of God.
